Alejandro J. Cruz-Arzón
Doctoral Pre-Candidate
Mechanical Engineering
Alejandro earned his B.S. in Physics and Electronics at the University of Puerto Rico at Humacao in 2024. In 2020, he joined UPR-PENN PREM (Partnership for Research and Education in Materials), under the mentorship of Dr. Nicholas Pinto. The group’s research focused on the electrostatic characterization of organic electronic devices. During the summer of 2022, he attended the LRSM (Laboratory for Research on the Structure of Matter) summer research program and worked at Dr. A.T Johnson’s lab. He focused on testing carbon nanotubes devices for biosensing applications. In the summer of 2023, Alejandro attended the Penn State’s Low-Carbon Power and Propulsion Program, where he worked at the GIMAS Lab (Guimarães Instrumentation, Measurements, and Advanced Sensing Laboratory) of Dr. Guimaraes. At the lab, he assisted with 5-hole probe calibration and calibration tunnel design.
